Washington State Mental Health Counselor
I work with individuals and families struggling with myriad problems: depression, anxiety, mood disorders, difficult relationships, sexual abuse, trauma, child attachment/behavior disorders among others. I have experience working with women, men and children from a variety of cultures and sexual orientations.
My desire as a therapist is to meet you exactly where you are. We come to therapy because things are not well and, for whatever reasons, we have not been able to figure it out on our own. You may have heard that we change when the pain of staying the same becomes greater than the pain of changing. So the work you and I commit to is the change you seek.
The journey into the counseling profession has been a rich evolution from my own personal experience emerging from trauma and loss. I am a graduate of Seattle University’s Pastoral Counseling Program. Prior to LCN, my counseling experience includes Community Psychiatric Clinic, Harborview Outpatient Mental Health Clinic, and Family Preservation at OliveCrest.
Therapeutically, I draw from a variety of frameworks because we are complex beings and there are effective tools, techniques and helpful ways of understanding that many theories offer us. These may include Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Family Systems and Psycho-dynamic therapy among others.
I invite you to come, be heard and to heal. All are welcome.
