Personal Information and Therapy Style: Sue has a Masters of Education in Agency Counseling from the University of Puget Sound and is a registered mental health counselor in the state of Washington. In the early 80's she received her Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of Puget Sound. She taught high school briefly then worked as a private tutor. She worked several years as a freelance author, and creates stained glass art as a business/hobby.
Sue has received training and is certified through Critical Intervention Stress Management (CISM) in crisis/trauma response for both groups and individuals. She has served as an elder in her church for several years in the area of pastoral counseling and healing prayer.
Sue approaches therapy as an opportunity to help people discover the causes of brokenness in their lives. She sees conflict and confusion in terms of three areas: brokenness exhibited as an inner personal struggle, broken and damaged relationships with others, and brokenness in a relationship with God. One or more of these types of brokenness are most likely the root of any type of anxiety, depression or dispute.
Sue considers counseling an opportunity to help bring healing in the lives of her clients and their families. Ultimately, Sue works to restore wholeness, dignity and respect to individuals, couples and families in crisis. She works in the areas of self image and identity, grief and loss, depression and anxiety, problem solving, recovery issues, stress management, career issues, abuse issues, and marital conflict. Sue works with adults and adolescents.
