Treatment Approach Margaret's approach is individually tailored to each client or couple. She specializes in providing evidence-based therapy that is effective and engaging. Together you will identify the issues you are concerned about and the strengths of character and experience that you bring to these areas. You will also explore the blocks to use of your strengths and negotiate and grow through such exploration to new ways of thinking, behaving and feeling. In addition to specialized training in Guided Meditation and Hypnotherapy for individuals and Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples, Margaret is also professionally trained in theology and Spiritual Direction and is able to work with you within your own faith framework and understanding.

Training and Professional background Margaret holds a MA from Seattle University and is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate and a Certified Pastoral Counselor with the American Association of Pastoral Counselors. She has worked for Lutheran Counseling Network since 2007 ; prior to joining LCN, Margaret held University positions in academic advising and college placement and in support and education for aging families. Additionally she is an independent college counselor who brings over 20 years experience in college and career guidance and placement. She currently specializes in couples and individual counseling, grief and life transition support and treatment of anxiety and depression.

Personal Information and Therapy Style Paul has been a therapist since 1975. He began the counseling program for Lutheran Family and Child Services in 1975 and was one of the founders of Lutheran Counseling Network in 1981. Paul’s original training was in Transactional Analysis and Gestalt therapy. He is certified with the International Transactional Analysis Association and is a Fellow in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors. Paul's therapy practice involves working with adults, either individually or as part of a couple. His therapy tends to be more long term, in depth therapy, assisting people in changing some of the fundamental beliefs that they have formed that are not working for them.

Personal Information and Therapy Style Michelle completed her Master of Arts degree in 1981 from Luther Northwestern Theological Seminary and a post graduate program in Marriage and Family Therapy in 1988 from Presbyterian Counseling Service. She has been on the staff of Lutheran Counseling Network since 1989.
One of the most important aspects of effective therapy is a supportive and collaborative working relationship between client and therapist. Her model of therapy is primarily drawn from cognitive behavioral, family systems and dialectical behavioral theories. Because she values the intricate connections of body, mind and spirit, Michelle is particularly interested in helping clients integrate their spirituality with their therapy and overall self care.
Areas of Expertise Michelle works with individual adults, couples and families. Her areas of specialty include issues of depression, anxiety, relationships, and grief /loss related to divorce, death and chronic illness. She is especially excited about working with women’s small groups where participants focus on balancing the demands of relationships, work and play. Michelle is trained to administer and interpret the Prepare/Enrich inventory for pre-marital couples.
